Building on a Rich Tradition — Transforming Lives

To meet the growing and changing needs of those we serve, Marywood Nursing Care Center is updating the service areas, accommodations and other amenities of the campus skilled nursing care center. This exciting "transformation" will allow us to continue the dedicated mission of the Felician Sisters to transform lives through compassion and service.

The renovation transformation is expected to be complete

by spring of 2012 and includes:

  • A contemporary state-of-the-art 2,853 square foot rehabilitation gym, therapy equipment and a "Transition to Home" rehabilitation apartment, to promote independence through recovery of strength, mobility, endurance, flexibility and activities of daily living.
  • Expanded and enhanced common areas to enjoy leisure skills, activities and fellowship with family and friends.
  • An expanded dining room to offer restaurant style options and healthy dining in a comfortable and social environment.
  • Renovated residential private and shared suites to enhance personal space and privacy.
  • Private spa facilities equipped to offer a therapeutic and relaxing environment.
  • Chapel with expanded floor plan for increased worship seating and quiet meditation.
  • Well-groomed gardens, courtyards and patios that allow residents to enjoy the outdoors in a secure environment.

During the renovation phase, Marywood Nursing Care Center will remain operational, providing skilled nursing and rehabilitation services, extended stays, short- and long-term care and hospice care as usual. Special plans and monitoring processes will be in place to ensure every resident continues to receive the same level of care and support they have come to expect.

Our general contractor Frank Rewold and Son, Inc., along with our design partner, Fusco, Shaffer and Pappas, has extensive experience in creating unique and innovative solutions in skilled nursing care center environments.
