Carolers Convene

The Marywood community is blessed by the many visitors who frequent our home. During the Christmas season, the blessings double as so many friends come to carol with us.

On Sunday, December 17, Junior Girl Scout Troop 70960 arrived with energy and enthusiasm. These fifth graders from Riley Elementary, looking splendid in elf hats, sang their hearts out, before sharing homemade Christmas cards with the crowd of residents in the Activities Room.

It was the boys’ turn the next evening when the Scouts of Troop 889 came for caroling, a tradition they have kept up for almost 10 years. Based at the Memorial Church of Christ, the group looked splendid in uniforms and festive hats, and brought their best efforts in singing some of our favorites. Thanks for remembering us, Troop 889!

The evening of Thursday, December 21 saw a sing-along with the Remarkable Bunch 4H Group. The six girls and one young man proved to be quite talented, and made it seem like this visit with our Residents was the best part of their season. So good of you to drop by, kids!

We are grateful to all those who came to share their holiday spirit. To the groups mentioned above and the others, we hope you were blessed by a very Merry Christmas.

Marywood Nursing Care Center has a Five-Star Rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). This rating was developed by CMS to help consumers, their families and caregivers compare nursing care centers.

In addition, Marywood has once again been recognized as one of "America's Best Nursing Homes" by U.S. News and World Report. U.S. News evaluated more than 15,000 homes nationwide. This year, just over 2000 homes earned the designation of a U.S. News Best Nursing Home. The Best Nursing Home designation is given only to those homes that demonstrate appropriate use of key services and consistent performance in national quality measures.

Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my Mom. We feel blessed to have been a part of the Marywood family.
